Statement By Gov. John Hoeven In Response To Storm Damage In Northern North Dakota
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to reports of storm damage in northeastern and northwestern North Dakota:
"We are concerned about reports of storm damage this week in Cavalier, Mountrail and Ward counties as a consequence of heavy, wet snow and strong winds. I have asked state Emergency Management Director Doug Friez and his staff to work with local officials and the rural electric utility cooperatives involved to assess the situation. I have also asked Director Friez to work with local authorities to make sure that all appropriate measures are taken to secure public safety."
