Jeff Crank Walks the Walk', and Talks the Talk'
Jeff Crank, Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado's Fifth Congressional District, today commented on Lamborn's statements yesterday regarding tourism and increasing gas prices in the district.
"This is yet another example of what we've been talking about since November," said Crank. "People are concerned over the price of fuel and other commodities and it is costing them too much money. But there is a difference between stating the obvious and actually doing something about it," said Crank.
Lamborn stated in the Mt. Mail yesterday that the remedy for soaring gas prices is to decrease the country's dependence on foreign oil through more domestic oil production.
Crank said one of the first pledges he'll sign in Congress is the American Solutions pledge to show voters that this is truly a priority, not just a convenient campaign platform.
"Washington bureaucrats are good at make things very complicated," said Crank. "Sometimes there are common sense solutions they can be working towards instead of wasting our time searching for more ways to waste our tax dollars. I will put my name of the dotted line and show voters what they can expect of me. They can expect real solutions, not just empty talk.
"This pledge is clear, I will vote to increase U.S. oil production to lower gas prices for Americans.' It seems simple to me. We need leadership that won't just talk a big game, but take the steps to make these solutions a reality," said Crank. "And if Doug wasn't avoiding debates, we might be able to ask him what he actually intends to do to fix these problems for our district."
American Solutions for a Winning Future, according to their web site, is a "unique non-partisan organization designed to rise above traditional gridlocked partisanship to provide real, significant solutions to the most important issues facing our country." The pledge was initiated by Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), who launched the opening of the organization in September of 2007.
