Congresswoman Gwen Moore Statement Regarding U.S. Supreme Court Indiana Voter I.D. Ruling

Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-WI) released the following statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling on Indiana's voter I.D law.

"I am very disappointed that this ruling validates an unconstitutional solution in search of a problem. We know that as a result of such voter I.D. policies there will be senior citizens, poor people, the disabled, minority and Latino voters that will find themselves effectively denied the right to vote."

"For too many years people have struggled and lost their lives in order to remove roadblocks to voting. Generations of American soldiers fought and died to defend this right. It is sad that the Court finds it acceptable to turn back the clock and once again sanction the disenfranchisement of voters."
