Constituents Get a Chance to "Talk Back" to Jeff Crank

Jeff Crank, Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado's Fifth Congressional District, said today that he is excited to see the response he received on his new website designed to listen to the voice of the voters.

"This is the working part of government," said Crank. "This technology allows voters to submit ideas, vote them up or down and offer suggestions. This should be available to the public for all elected officials," concluded Crank.

After winning Colorado's Fifth Congressional District assembly Crank started the forum for constituents to offer ideas about ways to help him cut the size of the federal government by 20 percent in 10 years.

"Many of the common-sense solutions in our campaign message have come from meeting with voters," said Crank. "This is an opportunity for better government and I intend to continue to use it once elected."

Crank explained his plans to continue using the forum once elected to Congress. Crank said his staff will submit upcoming votes to keep the voters informed and allow them to vote on the bills themselves and give opinions.

Among the ideas proposed that Jeff Crank and the constituents support are ending the battle between state and federal agencies for funding of plans that help the same people. "This will allow both the state and federal government a chance to lessen the size of their government," said Crank, adding, "This will give America the chance to make sure that their tax dollars are going to the right place."

Among other ideas gaining support from constituents are ending "franked mail", the elimination of earmarks, and ideas for support of a consumption-based tax as a replacement for the current tax system, which punishes savings, investment and productivity.

This new technology is powered by IdeaScale. Jeff intends to use it as an alternative to "franked" mail and tele-townhall meetings that his opponent Doug Lamborn uses. Instead of the expensive, one-way communication employed by the incumbent, the website allows the constituent a chance to talk back to the representative with full fervor and passion. It also costs far less than the $136,000 that was reported to be spent on "franked" mail by Doug Lamborn.
