Issue Position

As a former Lieutenant Commander and Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist in the U.S. Navy Reserve, I understand the challenges issues_veterans facing our brave men and women when they deploy overseas and when they return home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

I believe it is unconscionable to send our troops into combat with outdated and ineffective equipment and I believe it is shameful to deny them the support they need when they come home.

As a member of Congress, I will ensure that our troops have the tools and training necessary to be successful in battle and I will not tolerate the treatment and living conditions our wounded veterans found at places like Walter Reed Hospital.
