Lamborn out of Touch with Republican Party Platform

eff Crank, Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado's Fifth Congressional District, today commented on the release of the Republican Party's adopted resolutions.

"Last week thousands of Republican Party activists voted on what issues were important to them to have our party leading the charge for locally and in Washington," said Crank. "They spoke loud and clear to eliminate earmarks."

"Earmarks are everything that's wrong with Congress. Republican Party activists in Colorado know this. By defending and appropriating earmarks, Doug Lamborn is choosing to side with Washington against Colorado," concluded Crank.

The resolution, which passed with 94.7% of the vote at last week's state assembly, states as follows:

"It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that the practice of inserting earmarks into the

federal budget be eliminated."

Crank is the only candidate in the race to stand with McCain to stop earmarks, and signed the FreedomWorks pledge to put a stop to earmarks for 2009.

"Republicans need to stand up for less spending," said Crank. "Eliminating deficit spending should be a priority in Washington. We owe it to the tax payers to be responsible with their money. To do this we need someone in Washington who is not afraid to say no and buckle down to get the job done."
