Jeff Crank Announces Manufacturing and Trade Coalition

Jeff Crank, Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado's 5th Congressional District, today announced the membership of his manufacturing and trade coalition.

"Our leadership in D.C. has failed on this issue. America's international competitiveness is at stake. Our tax policy should reward savings, production and investment. It currently punishes productivity by taxing the means of production multiple times. We need to pursue regulatory reform, a friendly tort environment and rein in employment based health insurance costs.

"America's manufacturers and producers get hurt when our overseas competitors seek a competitive disadvantage through legislative fiat," said Crank, citing China's devaluation of its currency as a glaring example.

"We should support free trade in this country, added Crank, but free and fair trade as Ronald Reagan taught us. We should reward trading partners who negotiate in good faith and play by the rules. We cannot stand idly by when our trading partners use their government policy to punish American producers of goods and services in order to seek unfair advantage."

We must have trade policies that maintain a level playing field and help preserve U.S. industries which are critical to maintaining our sovereignty. Jeff understands that American companies have been over-regulated and over taxed while many foreign competitors are free to operate with little regulation. Jeff has stated that he is willing to take our message to Washington and stand up to the elitists who have ignored the needs of mainstream America," concluded Neppl.

"If we had more leaders in D.C. who understood the importance of these free trade agreements and of the need to enter into such agreements and enforce them, America's manufacturers would be far better off," said Crank.
