Cornyn Discusses U.S.-Israel Relations With Texas AIPAC Members In Washington

‘Through the decades, Israel has shown an unwavering belief in democracy, justice, security and peace,' Cornyn says

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn met this week in Washington with Texas members of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) to discuss several mutual priorities. Topics on the agenda included U.S. support for Israel, progress in Iraq and recent news on Iran and Syria.

"Through the decades, Israel has shown an unwavering belief in democracy, justice, security and peace," Sen. Cornyn said. "America and Israel share a close friendship and cooperation. We have mutual goals of defeating radical Islamic terrorism, fostering Middle East stability and promoting freedom. I was pleased to meet with Texas members of AIPAC to discuss these principles and goals. Iran, Syria and all other enemies of freedom must know that a strong and resolute America will always stand in defense of Israel and other freedom-loving nations."

Sen. Cornyn co-sponsored S. Res. 522, which honored and recognized the 60th anniversary of the founding of the modern State of Israel. The resolution unanimously passed the Senate earlier this year.
