McNerney Announces Additional Brentwood Economic Summit Panelists

MCNERNEY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL BRENTWOOD ECONOMIC SUMMIT PANELISTS

Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) announced an additional group of local experts that will participate in the Brentwood Economic Summit on May 27.

The new panelists are:

* Bethallyn Black, Urban Horticulture Program Manager, University of California Cooperative Extension
* Ken Hagan, President, Harvest Time
* Jeanne Krieg, Chief Executive Officer, Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority - Tri Delta Transit
* Kathryn Lyddan, Executive Director, Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust (BALT)
* Mark Quinn, District Director, Small Business Administration - San Francisco District

The summit, organized jointly with the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, will gather business, education, transportation, and economic development experts from Brentwood and throughout Contra Costa County to discuss spurring economic growth in Brentwood, including opportunities that exist as well as the challenges to doing so.

"I am excited about the additional panelists that are attending the summit," said Rep. McNerney. "I look forward to what I predict will be a productive dialogue about the ways to stimulate further economic development and bring new jobs and employment opportunities to Brentwood."

The summit will include an opening address from Rep. McNerney, then a series of panel discussions on a variety of topics such as transportation, agriculture and economic development. Previously confirmed panelists include:

* Bob Taylor, Mayor, City of Brentwood
* Dr. Kiran Kamath, Dean of Occupational Education, Los Medanos College
* Bruce Kern, Executive Director, East Bay Economic Development Alliance
* Bob Lanter, Executive Director, Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County
* Susan Miller, Director of Projects, Contra Costa Transportation Authority
* Bijan Sartipi, Caltrans District 4 Director
* Erick Stonebarger, Council Member, City of Brentwood & Farmer, G & S Farms

The economic summit will be help on Tuesday, May 27 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Brentwood Community Center. The Community Center is located at 730 Third St. in Brentwood.
