SENATOR MURKOWSKI SUPPORTS PUBLIC LANDS MILITARY PASS ACT

Senator Lisa Murkowski today joined with her Senate colleagues on the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in passing out of committee a bill that would make the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass available at a discount to military personnel and veterans.

"Our veterans and active duty members deserve nothing less than our full support," said Senator Murkowski. "Giving them a reduced rate to enjoy our National Parks is a small way to show our appreciation for their service."

The Public Land Military Pass Act would provide the one year pass for access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites at a reduced rate of $10 to veterans, active duty or reserve members of the United States Armed Forces. The pass is available to the general public for $80 and is valid for one year after the date of issuance of the pass.
