During this and every election cycle, I always look at each candidate to find out who should represent me. I have always used past performance as a litmus test. The best predictor of future performance is past performance. A light hitting second baseman is never going to be a 50 homerun guy because his past performances always show much lower numbers. If he becomes a 50 homerun guy, then we start to ask questions. Why do we suspect a Major League player who jumps from an average of 15 homeruns to 50 homeruns of steroid use and not the guy who has hit 50 home runs a year his entire career? When you evaluate this race, I encourage everyone to look at past performance. After 30 years of service I have a proven record of helping make the lives of our fellow citizens better. Whether it is through scouting, being a fire fighter, or helping the Republican Party improve, my past is an open book. You can know that I'll go down to Washington and continue to hit homeruns at a productive clip, because service is my life.
