Guthrie for Congress Announces Key Endorsements

State Senator Brett Guthrie's campaign for Congress in Kentucky's Second Congressional District has been met with enormous success since launching one week ago.

Today, United States Senator Jim Bunning endorsed Senator Guthrie's campaign in a
conference call with reporters.

"I campaigned with Senator Bunning in 1998, and we became good friends. I am
honored to have his support and look forward to serving with him in Washington D.C.,"
Senator Guthrie said.

Additionally, the following Members of the General Assembly have endorsed Senator
Guthrie. Combined, they represent nearly 90% of all registered Republicans who are
eligible to vote in May's primary. The counties listed are those represented in the Second
District:
State Senator Gary Tapp (Shelby, Bullitt, Spencer)
State Senator Elizabeth Tori (Hardin)
Senate Majority Leader Dan Kelly (Washington, Marion, Nelson, Taylor)

Frankfort, and I am honored to have their support," Sen. Guthrie said. "We are building a
team that knows how to win. We'll not rest until the job is done."

Guthrie's campaign will roll out more endorsements later this week, including several
county officials and key Republican Party leaders.

"I'm humbled by the grassroots and fundraising support we are receiving," Guthrie said.
The Guthrie campaign also announced that Brian D. Smith of Elizabethtown has been
hired to manage its grassroots, scheduling, and communications operations, as well as its
in-district fundraising apparatus.

Brian served for nine years in Congressman Ron Lewis' district office in Elizabethtown.
He has been active in campaigns and Republican Party politics since 1990. He can be
