Durbin Statement on New, Bipartisan Consumer Safety Legislation
United States Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) released the following statement today, commending the Senate Commerce Committee for reaching a bipartisan agreement to reform the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
"For too long, families have worried about the safety of their children's toys. This legislation will help stop dangerous products from reaching store shelves; ensure that recalls are faster and put some bite in the toothless tiger that is the CPSC."
