Strong families are an essential foundation of our society. I therefore believe our government has a duty to promote and protect the family in the policies we create and sustain. As the father of two daughters of my own, I know just how important these decisions are and exactly who they impact.
Today's world is fast-paced and there are a variety of struggles facing our families - including economic ones. Ensuring South Dakota families have the opportunity to provide the quality of life they desire is important. That is why I support tax policies that allow families to keep more of what they earn and a welfare system that aims to create self-sufficiency through hard work and determination.
