Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven On The Finding Of Rachael Opstedal

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement regarding the safe recovery of Rachael Opstedal:

"Like all North Dakotans, Mikey and I are relieved and pleased by the safe return of Rachael Opstedal to her family. Law enforcement officials are reporting that our Amber Alert system was instrumental in locating her and apprehending the man suspected of abducting her. Last year, we established an Amber Alert system to enlist the help of the media and the public in our search efforts when a minor is missing. Today, we owe our state's law enforcement officers, broadcasters, state radio and all participants in the Amber Alert system a heartfelt thank you for rescuing a vulnerable young girl and reuniting her with her family."
