Ring in the Holidays Responsibly with Safe Travel

Gov. Mike Rounds is asking South Dakotans to ring in the holidays responsibly.

"With both Christmas and New Years right around the corner, it's important for people to keep safety in mind," said Gov. Rounds. "Keep the basics in mind when traveling for the holidays - pay attention to road and weather conditions, and please buckle up."

Gov. Rounds is reminding travelers of the following winter travel safety tips:

* call 511 or visit SafeTravelUSA.com for road conditions;
* be prepared to change travel plans as weather conditions warrant;
* keep family and friends informed of your travel schedule and path;
* wear your seatbelt;
* please don't drink and drive.
