Smith, House Science Committee to Study Climate Change at South Pole, Great Barrier Reef

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today announced he will join a bipartisan Congressional delegation tour to study the effects of climate change on location in Antarctica and the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. The delegation will be made up of Members of the House Science and Technology Committee.

"The issue of climate change is at the forefront of many discussions in Washington D.C. and throughout the country. I appreciate the offer from my Democratic colleagues to accompany them, and I look forward to having the opportunity to see firsthand these areas, and to speak with some of the world's foremost experts on this very complicated issue," Smith said.

The delegation will leave Saturday, December 29. While abroad, Members will tour the International Antarctic Center, the South Pole, and the Great Barrier Reef. They will have the opportunity to meet with scientists and experts at each location to discuss climate change and other issues.
