El Paso Times - Cornyn Urges Chertoff to Ease Bridge Waits

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, called on Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff to address delays at Texas border crossings in a letter sent Tuesday, Cornyn's office said.

Cornyn wrote that addressing bridge lines was particularly important with the increased travel around the holidays. "These delays are attributed not only to the high volume of individuals and freight seeking to enter the United States every day, but also to the lack of adequate resources, infrastructure, and personnel at primary and secondary inspection stations," Cornyn wrote.

Cornyn's letter also asked Chertoff to provide an update on the signing of the memorandum of agreement with Gov. Rick Perry for the Texas enhanced driver's license pilot.
