Increasing Number of Americans Oppose Iraq War

House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn today released the following statement on a recent CNN/Opinion Research poll which shows that sixty-eight percent of Americans oppose the Iraq War.

"This poll speaks clearly—the American people are fed-up with President Bush's unproductive war policies and want a New Direction. Almost five years, nearly 4,000 American causalities, and billions of dollars of debt is too high a price to pay for this unending war. It is time that this Administration execute a plan for redeployment."
