Latta Formally Files As Candidate For Congress

A pro-life conservative, Republican Bob Latta formally filed as a candidate for the U.S. Congress at 9 a.m. at the Wood County Courthouse.

Latta who announced his candidacy at the Wood County Courthouse two weeks ago filed the necessary signatures required to be on the ballot on November 6th.

"I have had the great honor of serving citizens here in northwest Ohio in the Ohio General Assembly. I want to continue to work for the citizens of this region and make this the best place in Ohio to live, work and raise a family," Latta said.

Latta continued, "With less than six weeks until Election Day, I will be working tirelessly to get my conservative message to the voters in all 16 counties across the 5th Congressional District."

An award-winning leader and hard worker, Bob Latta has never missed a vote throughout his careeer in the Ohio General Assembly. Bob Latta has been named "Legislator of the Year" by the Ohio Farmer's Union, "Watchdog of the Treasury" (three times), was honored by the Ohio National Guard with the Major General Charles Dix Award for Legislative Excellence and received the "Patriot Award" from the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance.

Latta graduated from Bowling Green State University. He received his law degree from the University of Toledo. Latta has served northwest Ohio families for the past 17 years, representing them as a state senator, state representative and as a Wood County Commissioner. Latta's father, Del Latta, served northwest Ohio as the U.S. Congressman for three decades. Bob is married to the former Marcia Sloan of Williams County, and they have two daughters, Elizabeth, 15 and Maria, 14.
