Gov. Rounds asks that all flags fly at half-staff on Friday and Saturday to honor Rep. Zabel

PIERRE, S.D. - Gov. Mike Rounds asks that all flags in the state be flown at half-staff on Friday and Saturday, November 2-3, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. (CDT) until sunset, in honor of Representative Walter L. Zabel of Selby, who died Monday, October 29, 2007.

"Rep. Zabel was an excellent representative for the people of central South Dakota," said Gov. Rounds. "He was a well-respected consensus builder. It is appropriate that we show our respects in this manner."

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the Selby United Methodist Church, with burial at the Selby Memorial Gardens.
