Traffic changes to take place on SD11 and 26th Street

IOUX FALLS, S.D. - Two traffic changes related to the SD Highway 11 project will take place on Monday (Nov. 12).

Traffic on SD Highway 11 throughout the project will switch from the existing asphalt surfacing onto the newly constructed concrete surfacing. Traffic will be maintained head-to-head and the 26th Street intersection will be controlled with four stop signs. The changes will remain in place until completion of the construction in spring of 2008.

In addition, 26th Street east of Highway 11 for approximately 300 feet will be closed as crews replace the existing surfacing with concrete pavement and new asphalt. Traffic is expected to be restored on 26th Street in approximately one week.

The prime contractor, Runge Enterprises Inc. of Sioux Falls, will continue to conduct grading work for future grade construction of SD11 until December, but traffic should not be impacted.
