Statement on the Introduction of Global Service Legislation

Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN) released the following statement today on the Global Service Fellowship Program Act of 2007 (H.R. 3698):

"Without a doubt citizen service and our nation's passion for volunteerism is the best face of America. My global service legislation not only promotes and encourages Americans to volunteer internationally, it provide scholarships to make sure any qualified American can serve. I strongly believe any American with the skills and the desire to volunteer should have the opportunity to share their talents with the world."
