DeLauro Statement on Lawsuit Against Accenture

Washington , D.C. - Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn.-3) issued the following statement about Attorney General Richard Blumenthal's suit against Accenture for illegal negligence, unauthorized use of state property and breach of contract in connection with the loss of confidential information on 58 state taxpayers and hundreds of state bank accounts and purchasing cards.

"Accenture has failed to protect confidential taxpayer information. They need to take responsibility for their actions that put at risk valuable taxpayer data and I applaud Attorney General Blumenthal and Comptroller Wyman for their prompt and decisive action to protect the residents of Connecticut and hold Accenture accountable."
