Squadron Assigned to Homestead Air Reserve Base, Diaz-Balart Praises Air Force Decision

MIAMI— Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today issued the following statement regarding the Air Force's decision to add an active duty squadron to the Homestead Air Reserve Base:

"I congratulate Colonel Randall G. Falcon and the fine military personnel at Homestead Air Reserve Base on this exciting initiative. The dedicated men and women of the Air Force will contribute greatly to the readiness and efficiency of HARB," said Diaz-Balart. "It is critical that the Air Force have a strong presence in South Florida since our state serves as a gateway to the Americas. I know that our region will benefit immensely from this addition and I look forward to welcoming the new squadron," said Diaz-Balart.

This week the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General T. Michael Moseley, announced that an active duty squadron will be added to the Homestead Air Reserve Base in the coming years. The addition is part of the Air Force's Total Force Integration effort.
