Smith Comments on Hagel Announcement
Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released the following statement after Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) announced he would not seek a third term in the U.S. Senate:
"Chuck Hagel always did what he thought was best for Nebraska and our nation. He is a true leader, a welcomed voice of reason and good counsel. He's a dedicated patriot whose courageous service in Vietnam and the U.S. Senate sets an example for us all.
"I am honored to serve in Congress with Senator Hagel, and I am grateful to have him as a friend. I wish him and Lilibet Godspeed," Smith said.
