Cantwell Statement on Whale Killing

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) released the following statement today on the killing of a grey whale by the Makah tribe:

"I am deeply concerned by the unsanctioned killing of a grey whale by a few Makah tribal members. It's wrong that these individuals bypassed an ongoing legal process. There are many outstanding questions and ongoing investigations surrounding this incident, and I will be monitoring closely."
