Durbin Expresses Support for SIU President Glenn Poshard

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today issued the following statement in support of President of Southern Illinois University (SIU), Glenn Poshard who has recently faced allegations of plagiarism:
"Glenn Poshard is an extraordinary person whose talents and integrity have made him one of the most effective University presidents I have ever worked with. I join the SIU Board of Trustees in giving my full support to his continued leadership."
Durbin added that this statement was made on his own initiative without any contact or request by President Poshard or anyone connected with Southern Illinois University.
