"This afternoon, we met with Bob Malone, the CEO of British Petroleum America. He gave us every assurance that BP is 100% committed to their decision not to dump additional waste into Lake Michigan.
When we raised the issue of BP's air permit, and the potential pollution it poses to Lake Michigan, he asked us for additional time to assess the situation and promised to get back to us.
We made it clear that we would stand firm and defend the environmental integrity of Lake Michigan on all fronts- air and water. Malone assured us he will consult with us as BP moves forward on this front."
