Congresswoman Gwen Moore's Statement on House 9/11 Resolution

Congresswoman Gwen Moore released the following statement on the 9/11 resolution coming before the House this afternoon. On the eve of the anniversary of the tragic September 11 attacks, the House of Representatives is acting to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, and reaffirm its commitment to protecting the people of the United States.

"Today I join Congress in expressing our deepest sympathies to the victims of the September 11 attacks, and reaffirming our vow to protect the people of the United States.

"On the anniversary of this tragedy, we remain strong in our commitment to defeating terrorists and protecting our country. We will continue to provide oversight of the federal government's homeland security efforts.

"We will never forget the tragic attacks on our homeland six years ago on September 11. We will forever remember the victims, honor the nation's first responders, and extend our deepest sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones. Our thoughts are with them, now and always."
