Chris Murphy Statement on Six Year Anniversary of 9/11

WASHINGTON, D.C. - On the sixth anniversary of September 11, 2001, Congressman Chris Murphy (CT-5) released the following statement:

"September 11th is a day that no one will or should ever forget. Like so many Americans, I was distraught watching the events of that day unfold, and I spent much of it with my family as we attempted to reach family and friends who lived in New York and the Washington, DC area.

"As the nation moves forward, we must continue to work to keep America safe by fighting extremism, and we must never abandon the first responders who put their lives and their health on the line to help those in need that day and in the months of clean up and rebuilding that occurred."
