Energy Bills Increase Gas Prices, Create Obstacles for Domestic Production

Today Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), a member of the Energy and Environment Subcommittee of the Science Committee, made the following statement regarding the Democrat Energy Bill and the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Tax Act:

"These bills would increase gas prices and create roadblocks for domestic energy production. I fully support independence from foreign oil and the development of renewable energy sources. Unfortunately the energy bills passed today in the House do nothing to address our immediate energy needs," said Diaz-Balart. "It is inconceivable that with gasoline prices so high, the only thing this energy bill does is further increase gas prices on the American consumers."
