CORNYN EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR CAFTA
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the President's Export Council, expressed support Wednesday for the U.S.-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) between the United States and El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua:
"CAFTA is consistent with the longstanding policy of the United States to negotiate agreements that reduce foreign trade barriers, increase export opportunities for American businesses, and create jobs in Texas.
"I believe this agreement will be good for American markets, American businesses and American workers. I applaud the President and the U.S. Trade Representative for their tireless efforts to grow the American economy through these important trade negotiations. Texas farmers, ranchers and entrepreneurs will benefit almost immediately, and that's great news."
