Capito Announces Funding to Help Battle Underage Drinking in West Virginia

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) today announced the West Virginia Division of Criminal Justice Services will receive a $350,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to help state efforts in fighting underage drinking.

"This $350,000 is an important investment in the effort to protect West Virginia's young people from the dangers of underage drinking," said Rep. Capito. "I am pleased to announce this funding, as it represents a great example of tax dollars coming back to West Virginia and being put to a very good use."

The grant was made available through the DOJ's Enforcing the Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) block grant program. The goal of the EUDL program is to support and enhance state efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors.
