Reps. Honda and Lofgren Announce Over $13 Million for Santa Clara County Projects

U.S. Representatives Mike Honda (CA-15) and Zoe Lofgren (CA-16) today announced that they have secured over $13 million for water, justice, transportation, housing, and health projects in Santa Clara County. These funds, secured in the Energy and Water, Transportation/Housing Urban Development, Commerce, Justice, Science, and Labor/Health and Human Services FY08 appropriations bills, are allocated to projects that improve the quality of life for all the county's residents.

Rep. Honda commented, "As a Santa Clara County native representing his family, friends and neighbors in the U.S. Congress, my greatest responsibility is to ensure that our region's vital public services, innovative, entrepreneurial spirit and critical infrastructure remain world class. The appropriations bills passed out of committee this week address some of our area's - and the nation's - most important needs. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I am honored to be able to play a role in this process, in Santa Clara County and, indeed, across the country."
