Cornyn Statement On Sealy Work To Support Military Vehicles

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, made the following statement Monday regarding a Navy contract for Armor Holdings/Stewart and Stevenson for work on the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles for the U.S. Marine Corps, used to protect members of the military from roadside bombs:

"This work will support military vehicles that play a critical role in protecting our troops serving in the war on terror. The additional jobs it creates is also good news for Sealy and the Houston area. This is further evidence that Texas is committed to ensure those who serve in the military have what they need as they continue sacrificing on behalf of our nation."

Sen. Cornyn serves on the Armed Services, Judiciary and Budget Committees. In addition, he is Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee's Immigration, Border Security and Refugees subcommittee and the Armed Services Committee's Airland subcommittee.
