Today Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) made the following statement regarding the National Hurricane Center:

"My main concern is the safety of our families and our communities during these critical months. Clearly what is most important is that the National Hurricane Center continue to perform at its peak this hurricane season," said Diaz-Balart. "The men and women at the National Hurricane Center have a history of professionalism, great knowledge in predicting storms and keeping the public informed, and I trust that they will continue to do so for the remainder of the 2007 hurricane season and years to come."
