Rep. Gillibrand to host Town Hall Forum on Energy Independence

Local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand today announced that she will hold her seventh town hall forum on Sunday, June 24th at 11:30am in Columbia County. The topic of the forum will be energy independence.

The Congresswoman will be on hand to report on the 110th Congress and their aggressive schedule in regards to Energy Independence legislation. The Congresswoman encourages local residents to come out and meet her and ask questions regarding energy issues that affect their community.

During the forum guests will be provided information on how to save money on their energy and gas bills and take advantage of state and federal tax incentives for using energy efficient products.

"Folks in our area are very concerned about the high cost of gas these days and this country's dependence on foreign oil and are taking steps to be as informed as possible. I want to help our community take on best practices for energy efficiency, to save money and our environment," said Gillibrand, a member of the Agriculture Committee. "Energy Independence must be a priority for this Congress."
