SPEAKER PELOSI'S $6,000 PER VEHICLE REGULATION WILL COST MICHIGAN JOBS
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) today issued the following statement regarding the debate over fuel standards and Michigan's auto industry:
"As Congress reviews legislation on fuel-efficiency standards, sound legislation must lean on input from and cooperation with Michigan's largest employers. Speaker Pelosi's plan will increase the cost of automobiles by $6,000 per vehicle, which will devastate Michigan's auto industry and cost Michigan more jobs. I look forward to working with my distinguished colleague House Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell and the Michigan delegation to allow automakers and their employees the opportunity to innovate, grow and expand."
