Disaster Assistance Granted to Five More Counties

Five more Missouri counties affected by severe storms and flooding were named disaster areas today. Federal assistance to help communities recover from severe storms and flooding that occurred in May will now be made available.

Public Assistance (assistance to state and local governments) was granted to: Caldwell, Clinton, Lafayette, Linn and Sullivan counties.

"It's important that we continue to make sure that everyone who deserves help is getting it," said U.S. Congressman Sam Graves, who is the ranking member on the Subcommittee that oversees FEMA. "I'm glad that assistance is on the way so that we can begin to clean up after this disaster."

Earlier this month, the President declared 19 other Missouri counties disaster areas and made public assistance available.
