Buchanan Urges Senate to Focus on Border Security

Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL 13) released the following statement today in response to the Senate's failure to advance a flawed immigration reform bill.

"The Senate bill was flawed because it granted amnesty to illegal aliens," said Buchanan. "Now we should move ahead with common-sense reform that rejects amnesty, secures the border, and ensures that all of America's workers are here legally by issuing a tamper-proof employment identification card and an instant verification system for employers to check the legal status of workers."
