WALBERG VOTES IN FAVOR OF NEW LOBBYING RULES
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) today issued the following statement after voting in favor of new lobbying rules in the House of Representatives.
The Lobbying Transparency Act of 2007 amends the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 to require registered lobbyists to file quarterly reports on contributions bundled for certain recipients, and for other purposes.
This bi-partisan bill passed the House 382-37.
"The American people want men and women in Congress who follow through with their commitments, are accountable to the people they serve and maintain the highest of ethical standards," Walberg said.
"These new lobbying rules will help ensure these standards are being met."
