Florida Receives Federal Funds to Continue Fighting Flames

Today the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved a fire management assistance grant for the Caloosahatchee Fire Complex. Recent fires have impacted areas of Collier including Golden Gate Estates and Picayune.

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) made the following statement:

"I thank FEMA for acknowledging the needs of our community and assisting the residents of Collier and Lee Counties with federal funds to cover costs in the ongoing struggle to fight these fires," said Diaz-Balart. "I cheer the selfless efforts of the firefighters who are tirelessly working to put out the flames and I remain hopeful that conditions in the area will soon return to normal."
