WALBERG HELPS CONSTITUENTS CLAIM UNDELIVERED TAX REFUND CHECKS
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) today announced his official website has added a new feature to help constituents claim missing tax refunds.
Constituents can go here to check on the status of a missing refund, initiate refund tracers or change an address. Additionally, a telephone service entitled "Where's My Refund?" can be accessed by calling 1-800-829-1954.
"It is vital that taxpayers receive refunds they are due from the IRS, and I urge everyone in south-central Michigan to take advantage of this service," Walberg said.
An average refund of $963 is waiting for 95,746 taxpayers whose refund checks have been returned to the Internal Revenue Service as undeliverable. The checks, worth a total of $92.2 million, can be claimed as soon as their owners update their addresses with the IRS. In some cases, a taxpayer has more than one check waiting.
