Congressman Diaz-Balart Votes Against Largest Tax Hike in History

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today made the following statement about the Budget Proposal:

"Today the new Democratic majority approved the largest tax increase in our nation's history. America's hard-working taxpayers will be burdened with $392.5 billion in tax hikes. More than 6.7 million taxpayers in the state of Florida will see their taxes increase by an average of $3,039.

"Just last week in the budget mark up, Democrats voted against every common sense tax relief provision. The child tax credit, the marriage penalty relief and the state and local sales tax deduction were among the provisions rejected in committee. Democrats say they support hard-working families but their actions prove otherwise," said Diaz-Balart.
