Schumer Statement on Buffalo Bills

"We did it. It may not be football season, but we just scored a touchdown. This is a huge win for Buffalo and Bills fans everywhere. This deal will enable the Bills to stay where they belong - right here in Buffalo - for the foreseeable future. For the last year, I have worked side-by-side with Ralph Wilson and the NFL to ensure a fair revenue sharing plan for small market teams. The Bills are the heart and soul of Western New York, and this deal is exactly what the doctor ordered for the club and their devoted fans.

Ralph Wilson is a tenacious fighter and a great partner, and Roger Goodell and the NFL owners deserve credit for having the fairness and foresight to forge a settlement that will benefit the whole league. I want to thank Ralph Wilson for his tireless work and look forward to another exciting Bills season in Buffalo."
