WALBERG SUPPORTS LEGISLATION EXPANDING BENEFITS FOR VETERANS
U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI7) will support legislation expanding benefits for veterans during votes tonight in the House.
The Congressman will support H.R. 797, which will expand current vision programs for veterans to include those who have suffered "impairment of vision." Current law includes only those with "blindness."
The Congressman also will support H.R. 1284, the Veterans` Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2007. This bill provides a cost-of-living adjustment for disability compensation for veterans with disabilities related to service.
"Congress has a responsibility to care for our wounded heroes when they return home from the battlefield, and these bills are necessary and appropriate to ensure our veterans are receiving thorough medical care," Walberg said.
