Boozman Joins Arkansas Trade Mission
U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today joined a delegation from the Arkansas World Trade Center in Brescia, Italy, to assist in the AWTC's first trade mission to establish international connections.
Boozman joined AWTC President Dan Hendrix and Dr. Joe Ziegler, chairman of the economics department in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, in meetings Wednesday, including lunch with the U.S. Ambassador to Italy.
"We had a very good working lunch," Boozman said. "This week's visit was primarily supposed to be an opportunity for the AWTC to learn how trade missions work and yet I was very pleased that Dan and his team actually signed some very important memorandums of understanding with a couple of major Italian universities.
"I heard nothing but praise for the Arkansas delegation's hard work from the Italians and the team from Montana. This trip confirms the tremendous opportunity that we have as a state to increase our exports," Boozman said.
The trade mission was organized by the Montana World Trade Center, which invited the Arkansas delegation to join. Montana congressman Denny Rehberg is leading the delegation. The University of Montana holds the license in the World Trade Center Association for its state, as does the University of Arkansas.
