U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar Statement on Fed Railroad Association's Decision for DM&E Rail Plan

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar tonight released the following statement in reaction to the Federal Railroad Association's (FRA) decision stating that the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern (DM&E) Railroad Corporation's project has met the requirements of the federal environmental review. This decision starts a 90 day clock in which a final decision on DM&E's loan application must be made.

"As the Department of Transportation approaches a final decision on this loan, it must confront very serious questions about the loan application, and it must make sure that dozens of high-speed freight trains do not run right through the heart of Rochester and the Mayo Clinic."
