Statement Of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell On Third Quarter Economic Growth
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell (R-KY) today released the following statement on the news that the economy grew at a rapid pace of 7.2 percent during the third quarter of this year - the best since 1984:
"Today's news is further proof that the President's Jobs and Growth package is working. It has provided a much-needed boost to our economy-the strongest increase in nearly two decades. Our goal now is to sustain this growth, and Congress can do that by passing the energy bill which will not only reduce energy costs but will also create jobs."
